Mrs. Bramzel and her kindergarten class

Bellevue, WA – On Friday, October 30th, morning show hosts Jen Pirak and Curt Kruse made a surprise visit to Phantom Lake Elementary School to honor Mrs. Kathleen Bramzel as STAR 101.5’s Teacher of the Week.

Mrs. Bramzel is a kindergarten teacher at Phantom Lake Elementary in Bellevue and has been a teacher for over 20 years. Along with being named STAR 101.5’s Teacher of the Week, she was presented with gifts, an award plaque, and a check for $101.5 to help pay for classroom supplies. Mrs. Bramzel was nominated for this honor by the mom of a current and former kindergarten student.

She had had her eldest son in Mrs. Bramzels class 5 years ago and was over the moon when she learned her daughter was going to be in her class as well saying, “Mrs. Bramzel is such a lovely person with such a big heart. She truly loves what she does, and it truly shows. I am forever grateful for her, and I hope she is still there when my youngest starts kindergarten”. This same parent also recognized the rest of the staff and how they help make the school feel like one big family.

Mrs. Bramzel was surprised and very appreciative that someone would nominate her for this honor. When asked what she loves most about teaching, she said, “making a difference in children’s lives and their families, helping them realize how important they are, and helping them establish a strong foundation for their social and academic skills”.
