I had the experience of a life time this morning and wanted to share it with you.
I took our hummingbird feeder in a couple nights ago and replaced the food and took it out yesterday morning. Noticed the little hummers were coming on and off all day. Last evening it froze up so I brought it in for the night. At about 7:50 this morning I opened the door to take it back out and as soon as I opened the door a little hummer attacked the feeder (he was right by the door, unknown to me) ~ yes, while the feeder was in my hands. I stopped and let him drink and decided to see if he'd sit on my finger and slowly brought my index finger up to where he could sit and eat if he wanted to. To my delight, he sat on my finger and ate for a long while. His little body was warm and his feet felt like blades of very soft grass grasping my finger ever so gently. He'd put his beak into the feeder and pull it back and kept looking up at me. Every once in a while he'd flap his wings and the sound it made was like a bumble bee when it's close by. I think he was wondering if I was a danger, but he was more hungry than scared and I absolutely loved the moment.

After he (or she) decided they'd had enough and flew away, I went in and got my camera and took a few pictures. Thought I'd send along a few. There are two birds coming to the feeder but I think the one in these pictures is not the one that was on my finger. He was much smaller and wasn't green like this one.

Our dog, Sammy enjoys the snow!
Sammy loves playing with his frozen tennis ball in the snow! Until he gets tired and soon finds out his water bowl is frozen solid.
Our cat, Sabastian, however, definetly does not want any part in the mounds of snow outside.
Sabastian enjoys long walks across the yard (when the weather alows) , catching some ZzZ's in front of the space heaters!!

Hopefully more fun snow comes during Christmas time!
