This is Gimli. My 6 year old Sun Conure Parrot. His "hatch" date, or birthday is July 28th, 2005. I got his name off of the book/now movie "Lord of the Rings" after the dwarf character Gimli. He was an early Chirstmas present from my boyfriend Nicholas. We got him in 2005 when he was just 4 or 5 months old. I don't always call him by the name I gave him. I sometimes call him Jim, or Chico..
Gimli knows a few tricks, he can "twirl" or "dance", shake his head "yes", he can "wave" to people and he can also lay down on his back for me while in my hand. He can also lay down with out my hand, on a pillow or blanket. I also potty trained him to "goo poop" on command, so he won't poop on me or any of my furniture. Gimli loves to give me kisses and loves to cuddle with me in my sweatshirt hoods.
He likes Lady Gaga for some odd reason. Everytime any of her songs come on the radio he starts dancing. His favorite song by Lady Gaga is, "Bad Romance". Another one of his favorites is the "Can, Can" song off the Moulin Rouge movie sound track.
Gimli is not a talker, he's more of a sqawker. He barks like a little dog, that's because I used to own a maltese dog and Gimli picked up his bark.
Gimli hates being alone or away from me, just like a 2 year old hates to be away from his/her mommy. So, I take him everywhere/anywhere, where he is allowed. I cannot take him into restraunts, grocery stores or anything that has open food or produce. (It's a healthcode thing.)
Like alot of other animals, Gimli doesn't like the vaccum. He will sqawk until I turn it off. But other times when I'm cleaning, it sometimes doesn't bother him.
