Former Staff Sargeant Preston Breaux, served in WWII from May 27, 1941 to November 1, 1945. He served the majority of his tenure in the US Army Air Corp as a flight chief. He was stationed in Calcutta Burma India,
He had many stories to tell of those days in the service.
After his discharge from the service, he became a carpenter and worked in many areas of Montana and Washington. He was instrumental in the building of several dams. He worked at the Diablo Dam in Marble Mount WA and another in Montana.
He has also been employed at various plywood mills in Western Washington and retired from the Lacey mill in 1982. Following his retirement, he continued to pursue parttime remodeling jobs andhis hobby, building toy boxes, planters, wooden toys and large rocking horses.
He was the father of 4 and has lived the past 3 years with his eldest daughter in Marysville.
He had 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Preston Breaux passed away on June 9, 2010 from cancer. He was 90.
