I'm not a hiker. When I was asked if I wanted to hike up Tiger Mountain, just east of Issaquah, I had no idea what I was getting myself into.
It was a very tough hike and took more than three hours to reach the summit, but when we got there, we were rewarded for our efforts.
The view was absolutely stunning. When we decided to rest and east some food before heading back down, we noticed that some birds were very interested in what we were doing. I took a small piece of a granola bar and put it in the palm of my hand and held my arm out. To my surprise one of the birds immediately flew down from the tree behind us and landed on the tip of my finger and proceeded to eat the granola out of the palm of my hand. This happened two more times.
I've never been much of an outdoorsman, but this was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had. While every muscle in my body is sore, and I was sure that I would have a heart attack on multiple occasions during the hike... it was so worth it.
