Competing for the second year in a row, A.J. Roberts made it to second round in the 2010 Seattle Regional Pokémon Video Game Championship. He won his first round without losing a single Pokémon in battle. However, his second round proved a combination that he was not prepared for to counter. A choice-scarfed Giratina was his downfall. A.J. blames his lack of time to train and prepare on his loss, but also admits his competitor had an excellent strategy. Though he didn’t have the success he had last year, he vows to learn from his loss and continue to train in his quest to become a Pokémon Master.
On an unrelated note, his wife almost knocked herself out on one of the screens that showed the matches.
