Shed fire in Poulsbo

Early am shed fire in Poulsbo

(Poulsbo, North Kitsap) Poulsbo Fire Department, North Kitsap Fire and Rescue and Navy Region Northwest responded to a fully engulfed shed fire this morning at 4 am. Neighbors noticed the blaze and quickly called 911. The shed and nearby home belongs to a 30 year old male and his 30 year old wife. They were home at the time of the fire and the woman said, “I woke to strange noises and looked outside my window. My whole yard was glowing and I saw the shed on fire.” Firefighters sprayed foam on the nearby house to prevent the fire from spreading.

The 24’ by 24’ shed was a complete loss, as were its contents. It housed a 2007 Chevy Cargo ¾ ton van and work tools, a 1954 tractor, and several antiques bicycles.

No one was injured in the fire and the homeowners are insured. The exact cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and the Kitsap County Fire Marshal is investigating the incident.
