The annual trek to Mt. Vernon and La Conner started at as usual. My friend Dinky and I stopped for breakfast at a local restuaruant and headed north on I-5.
As we reached Mt. Vernon, the drive to the tulips fields were as slow as molasses. When we finally reached the valley most of the fields had already been cleared due to the unusually warm and dry weather we had had for winter.
While driving through the backroads we came upon this beautiful seemling all yellow tulip field. Upon further discovery, we notice a sprinkling of a few lone red bulbs.
I was asked to come back out of the field after I snapped this photo!
