7th Annual Dancing for Toys

The largest gathering of dancers on the Olympic Peninsula is happening on Friday December 11, 2009 at Peninsula College. The event location is at the Pirate’s Union Building (PUB) next to the bookstore at 7:00 PM. A new, unwrapped toy will get you into the show. The Salvation Army depends on assistance from the community and we are dancing to increase awareness of the Salvation Army’s work of helping families in need. Demands are at their greatest. There are many people out of work for the first time. With today’s economic crisis the donations are down and the demands are up.

The dance production is a way to introduce the area dancers to the public and is an open invitation to women who are interested in learning the ancient art form of dance. Dancers also contribute a new toy to participate in the show. This is an all-volunteer show and all toys and money collected will be donated to and distributed by the Salvation Army. Open your heart and share your blessings this holiday season.

This is your chance to see some of the greatest talent Clallam County has to offer. Some of the groups who will be performing are the following: Wahine Ilikea Dancers (Hula), Transcend (American Tribal), award winning Shula Azhar (Bollywood) and the longest established dance troupe on the peninsula, Hapy’s Oasis (Folkloric Fusion), and internationally acclaimed Artemis (Modern Egyptian Cabaret).
