We have no coal mines in Washington left thanks to our governor. But our coal power plant is importing coal from other states. Did I mentioned it is owned by Canada. They already laid off 600 in 2006. How about devastating our community more.

On a trip to Eastern Or. last week, I was disgusted at how the wind gen. facilities have totally ruined the once-beautiful Columbia R. landscape. I'd take dams over that any day. Hypotwits! BTW, all Lewis Co. needs is more family wage job loss.

Growing corn for bio fuel ends up costing everyone more for basic food products since they stop growing other crops for higher cost corn. Then the third world doesn't have corn to eat which has led to food riots. Bio's not so earth friendly!!!

We cannot grow enough corn for bio fuel to be realistic for everyone, and of course wind power will kill birds and river dams will kill salmon. These environmental folks will always find a problem with every energy source.

Since we are still at a point where we can't replace fossil fuels entirely, I think we need to slow down and wait until there are solutions. I'm not jumping on this bandwagon in the haste of the moment.

Lets start by assessing fines on the biggest polluters. Mt Saint Helens.......We will use the fines from the mountain combined with stimulus money to build a big cap over it. We will then have a good base for a new study center for the U of W
