I own a Pontiac Vibe with air conditioning, but with temperatures above 100 degrees and reading an outside temp of 109, then 110 when I stopped for gas, even if this temp is nfluenced somewhat by the engine, it is impossible for a small car air conditioner to keep up. Please people, don't expect your pets to travel with you in this heat because they can't use drink holders!! Unless you kennel them with a drip bottle in the kennel and keep the AC on if you stop they are doomed. I saw a larger SUV in the Fred Meyer parking lot after 10 p.m. last night, when it was still above 80 degree out, and there was a dog in vehicle. The window was rolled down a few inches and the owner had gone inside. The dog was in distress and howling. It was still above 80 degrees outside so it could have been above that with no AC on and at least 75 with AC. Your pets are better off in front of a fan in your living room! Please people, think before you travel with them right now...please!

I hope you talked to the owner about how dangerous this is. It's up to us to try to educate people about pets in hot cars. Thanks!
