This is what MaKintosh lake currently looks like.
Thurston County would like to have which few home owners live on and by the lake to vote to raise our taxes to clean up this public lake. No one who live in the area can afford this. It is a public lake with a long walk/bike path along one side and a public boat launch. People have come from all over WA to enjoy fishing on the lake. It has overgrown with so much of 3 different types of water weeds, that you can not even swim in it anymore. It apears more like MacIntosh swamp and we need help from the public, WA state and the county to help clean this lake up so the public can use it again. As it is the locals wont even use it.
Cool off in this public lake? NOT!!!

Go to www.congamond.org and send inquires about invasive milfoil and other invasive species. We used -trade name sonar chemical to control weeds. Ask about funding too. The club name is Citizens Restoring Congamond. Bob B

I realize money is tight but this lake really needs to be cleaned up. There are a lot of lakes in western Washington and I don't think there is another one this bad. You can't even take a boat out and fish!

Be careful who you ask for help from because the environmentalists might see the nasty shape of the the lake as a good thing.

I live in the Cedarwood Terrace Community where these pictures are taken. There is definately a need for help and we are searching for it. If KOMO News can find the correct person for us to work with...KOMO would be doing better than we have done.
