2009 marks the end of an era. This is the last year for all nineteen-eighty's high school graduates to celebrate their 20th reunion at functions across the Pacific Northwest. It is the end of parachute pants, which are undoubtedlly incorporated into your child makeshift tent in their bedroom. It is the end of A-Ha's "Take on Me," playing over and over in your head.
However, 2009 is a new beginning for us all. It is a chance for us to prove how much or how little we've changed through the years. And like our mothers told us about prom, our twenty year reunion is a 'must see.' We only have this one chance this reunion season.
High school has unavoidably shaped us in to whom we've become. Let's all retell our fond memories of the glory days. It brings an unexplicable joy. It brings something back that has been pushed to the dark recesses of our minds to the forefront. 1989'ers please join all of us that will be attending our reunions this year.
