Im not sure exactly what to do, My name is Georgie and I recently came across this wonderful part of marysville history, Nesteled in the midst of a small community is a jewl, the only thing is that it is slowly becoming a victim of deteriation. what i know is that it is supposed to be the oldest road of marysville. I have already gotten a small group of people together who have been working on cleaning it up and trying to make our presence know so that people wont vandalize it. It is a bunch of trails and in the middle of it is a small stage, some corrals they made tables out of stumps and there is a shelf that had been made into an old stump. i heard that the owner of the property now was friends with a lady who ran for gov. and they had a seminar out there for her. my problem is that it is privatly owne we are currently looking into how to get a hold of mr Turk if he is still living, he used to keep the property up himself and was happy to let it be open to the public. I am hoping that you can direct me in the right directions on how we might be able to get some donations for a little lumber to restore the stage area and how one might go about doing this the right way. Its not a huge job right now, a few repairs and some tlc will go far. it would just be a shame for this small jewl to become lost in time.
help me reserve marysville oldest road

Mr. Turk lived on the property in the house to the left when you walk in.There is so much history there. A Senator rode on the road that cut through there in the early 1900's. The Girl Scouts use to camp there every summer. Try contacting them.

Try going to the lumber placed and ask if they would be willing to donate some supplies of any sort to help out. Places like home depot I would imagin would help out. I use to work there and they do a lot of work for communities when they can.

Is that behind rolling greens back behind where Cascade Elementary is? I grew up there, but am now in Arlington. We used to walk back there, it felt like I could have stepped into Anne of Green Gables or something. :)

Mert Turk is the property owner and his wife died last year. I believe his son also lives on the property. Girl Scout camp was there for about 6 years that I know of. He let us use the property for free.
