Last week in Tacoma Washington the Monster Truck industry had its darkest Moment, when a child was struck by a driveshaft loop that had broken off of its mounting, it was a horrible accident that was thought to be not possible. Along with this tragedy came public outcry, how could this have happened, what should be done to prevent it?
at least one team, Sudden Impact Racing, is aggressively going after this new problem and has developed the world's first drive line blanket. In the early stage of research and development, these new blankets will be on the trucks this weekend during competition and freestyle. Next week, after this weekend's shows, the blankets will be evaluated for success and modifications. All Team SIR trucks will be outfitted with these new blankets as they become available.
The Blankets are made from Kevlar and strapped directly over the Driveshaft loop system and the U-Joints.
