After a few days of snowfall in north Seattle my roommate decided to start building the foundation of an igloo, 4 days later we finished at 1:30 in the morning. The igloo stands about 7 1/2' tall, the walls are about 18" thick, and 4 people can sit comfortably inside around the center fire pit. There is a screen vent in the center of the roof for ventilation, and two side windows made from sheets of ice and backlit by candles to provide light inside. The entrance to the igloo is just wide enough and tall enough that you have to crawl through, and helps to keep the interior warm. Although with the recent weather the igloo is still standing, but it is starting to take a beating from the rain. This was by far the largest snow project either of us has tackled, but we already are planning for a larger one next year.
4 days + 2 guys + snow = IGLOO
