Our beloved pet Tiller home for Christmas after falling overboard from our boat in August. She swam to shore and fended for herself for 3 months.
Our pet cat Tiller travels on our boat with us when we cruise to Canada each year. In August we we anchored in a little cove off a private island in British Columbia. During the night she fell overboard. The next day we couldn't find her and figured she fell overboard and the tide took her to sea. My husband noticed something that looked like our cat onshore and for the next 3 days we search
ed for her to no avail.
We finally left assuming we would never see her again. 3 months later we get a phone call from the resident on the island saying they have seen a cat coming to the farmhouse. They started putting food out for her and they finally caught her. She gained so much weight they had to cut her collar off. Guess the mice population has diminished considerably.
We made the trip to the island on Thanksgiving to pick up our cat, Tiller. The family who lives on the island treated us to an American Thanksgiving dinner all cooked on their wood stove and grown on the island. The entire incident is nothing short of a miracle.
