Humming Bird struggles to find food

Our Humming birds stayed with us despite the bitter cold weather. We realised that although the feeder was frozen they still came and tried to get to the sugar water. We took the feeder down and placed it in warm water to unfreeze the bottom of the feeder about every 3 hours so that they could feed. The temperatures have risen today so we don't have to do that anymore.

it is jan 4,2009.I still have a female hummingbird hanging around.she eats at my feeder all day and is gone at nite,only to return the next day.i was thinking she should be gone.she looks to be in good health,so why would she still be here.
