Our driveway is long and steep. After much shoveling, an idea came to mind. I started making grooves in the path, so there are slots and slots to keep the tires from slipping. Better for the car and also for me to walk down the driveway. You see, if the snow were packed dense, the tires could slip and slide...which I had experienced a few days ago. Then I remembered seeing the tracks made by the chained tires, I decided to make large grooves in the path horizontally instead of just shoveling the snow on the surface and packing it down! I made two narrow paths wide enough for the wheels on each side. This also saved my energy as I was already tired before finishing the whole driveway. Start with one side first, if you still have enough energy, continue with the second. The idea is to give more control and traction. Good Luck!
Got too much to shovel? Here's a tip!
