Cold little Hummer in Coupeville

This little guy has been hanging around for several days. Today we were able to capture this picture of it - note the temperature on the thermometer and the rain chime covered with ice 4 inches thick. We keep the feeder warm with the light bulb, which the hummer seems to really appreciate

We had one take shelter on a balcony here in CA from heavy wind (60mph) near the fire zone. Much of their shelter is gone, and our condo association butchered trees http://trochilidae1.blogspot.com/2008/12/joe-hummingbird-takes-cover-from-rains.html
