(Poulsbo, Kitsap County) Poulsbo Fire Department and Poulsbo Police responded to a two story residential structure fire on Oscar Street near downtown Poulsbo this afternoon shortly before 1pm. Units arrived in four minutes of dispatch and had the fire under control within 10 minutes. The residence is home to an 85 year old woman who was home at the time of the fire. Her adult son, who lives upstairs, said “I came back to the house to get my golf balls and found smoke pouring from the upstairs window.” The man attempted to extinguish the fire with a garden hose, while neighbors called 911 and helped the woman to evacuate the home. The exact cause of the fire is unknown at this time and Kitsap County Fire Marshals are investigating the incident. While official estimates are unknown at this time, damages appear to be confined to the upstairs bedroom and attic area.
