I took these photos this past weekend outside the window of my boyfriend’s upstairs bedroom in Seattle, WA. My boyfriend and I discovered the Anna’s Hummingbird nest a couple weeks ago in his birch tree. It is about 4-5 inches in length and made from small twigs, lichen and other mosses which blend in with the surroundings. Shortly after our discovery we noticed a small egg the size of a jelly bean. Now we delight in watching the mama bird sit on the nest awaiting her baby. We have read that the egg will hatch after 14-19 days – which is any day from now!
These photos are so rare and amazing. We feel so blessed to live in Seattle, where you can enjoy so much of nature’s beauty!
