my 7 hour commute home from Naval Shipyard, Hwy 3 was a skating rink, dirty windshied, icycles hanging from bumpers, and several cars slid out. we had to make a run for getting over the overpass

Miserable commute out of Bremerton

uphills and overpass were a sheet of ice..cars and jack-knifed semis everywhere. took me more than 5 hours just go from my parking lot on base to the overpass to junction with highway 3, less that 2 miles..then several more hours dodging trees/branches/slid out vehicles on 16..the slight downgrade at toll before narrows bridge was slick too..winds were something else the rest of the commute. best road i had was Norpoint Way hill..major steep up hill but it had sand and no one in my way for easy cruize up. my daughter kept calling checking my status..she got tired of waiting and fell asleep before I got home.
