Over 175 vets call the Soldiers Home at Orting their home. If you've never visited, the holidays is a great time to stop in and thank them for their service. It is a beautiful and quiet campus of barracks style living and dining, with living quarters from small studio apartments for the able and independent, to full medical care in the Nursing Facility. The Soldier's Home Cemetery, just up the hill from the residence is worth a stroll, to read the tombstones dating back to Civil War veterans. Even in the snow, it is an amazing piece of history right here in Orting, the small town with the big view!
