I went out because I heard sirens, saw a fire truck on the hill above the Tukwila P & R and thought OK, nuthin to see here, go back inside. Then I saw the smoke floating over my mobile home park, so I grabbed my cell, some shoes and a coat, then headed out to figure out WHERE the smoke was coming from.
I Ran into a neighbor and, in retrospect we did a VERY dumb thing and climbed on the back side of the dirt pile (from a concrete recycler) next door. The fire was on the other side of the dirt pile that the neightbors refer to as "Mt. Anderson"
To me, this looked a lot like what I imagined the base of a tornado would look like. Once the neighbor said the words "tire fire" I sad we gotta go cuz if the wind shifts we're toast. It was the BLACKEST BLACK I think I've EVER seen!!
Because I live in an old mobile, the smell slowly invaded my home so I took my cat's and went to stay with a family member.
Thank goodness for a good rain, as when I got back home the house smelled better and so did the air outside. It took the cast SEVERAL hours to get over being taken away from home....but now they're just as honery as ever - LOL :)
