Have you always wanted to own a stand-alone arcade version of SurfPlanet? Or maybe Dance Dance Revolution is more your bag? Whatever your classic gaming style, an online auction house may have what you're looking for -- and at starting prices that seem downright vintage.
Hosted by CyberAuctions, an online auctioneer, the seller is Lakewood's infamous B&I Amusements.
B&I Amusements has featured miniature golf, rides and plenty of arcade games for over 40 years -- but, the auction page announced, the small entertainment center is closing. Their liquidation auction also includes photobooths, table games and even equipment for running a concessions stand.
"This is your chance to own your favorite arcade games," the seller notes.
B&I Amusements is located in the B&I Public Market mall, long beloved Tacoma icon, remembered for its quirky sign, which advertises gold teeth, cell phones, pet supplies, and yes, an arcade. The mall has been in operation since 1940. Originally opened up as a hardware store in 1946, B&I was owned and operated by E.L. Irwin and M.L. Bradshaw, who added additional services and entertainment options throughout the years. The arcade's carousel dates back to 1948.
All 325 items are being sold as-is, and the bidding ends July 25.
