Parking in downtown Seattle and Pioneer Square can be a nightmare -- not to mention expensive. But to entice visitors into the city's bustling urban core, they're extending a financial olive branch in the form of free parking tomorrow, for the First Thursday art walk, and on Sunday, May 12, in honor of Mother's Day.
To park for free on First Thursday, all you have to do is fill out a voucher and hand it to the parking attendant at any of the participating garages. Then, enjoy the city's vibrant arts culture as you tour galleries and meet the artists behind the work. Free First Thursday parking is available during the off-season, which ends tomorrow.
Then, on Mother's Day, if you visit the aquarium, ride the Great Wheel, dine at Ivar's, take an Argosy cruise, or go to one of the other participating waterfront vendors, you'll receive a voucher for up to four hours of free parking between 9am and 9pm. More information is available through the City of Seattle's website.
