Miley Cyrus hits iTunes Top 10 with 'Wrecking Ball'

Just a day after the release of her new track and video, "Wrecking Ball," Miley Cyrus has cracked the iTunes Top 10 list for singles. She joins summer chart-toppers Katy Perry, Robin Thicke, and Lady Gaga on the list.

Cyrus, who immediately received criticism for her scantily-clad appearance in the emotional video, has been on the wrong side of the media since she performed at the Video Music Awards alongside Thicke in a performance many deemed inappropriate for the 20-year-old former child star. However, all of the harsh words don't seem to have dampened her commercial appeal.

In addition to taking the number 9 spot on the iTunes Top 10 list, "Wrecking Ball" has already broken records on YouTube and boost presales of her forthcoming album, "Bangerz."

"Wrecking Ball" is the second track to be released off "Bangerz"; the first, "We Can't Stop," has already sold over 2 million copies in just 13 weeks.

"Bangerz" drops in October.
