In the never-ending pursuit of higher ratings, network talk shows are always trying to get in the good graces of a younger demographic. Which could be why, according to the Hollywood Reporter, sources are saying that NBC is looking to replace Jay Leno with Jimmy Fallon.

The sources told the Hollywood Reporter that the 2013-14 season may be Leno's last, and that an announcement could come as early as May.

Leno, who hosted the "Tonight Show" from 1992 until 2009, and then again in 2010, has a contract with NBC through 2014 -- but that doesn't mean there won't be shakeups in the meantime.

Fallon currently hosts "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," and has done so since 2008. In recent years, he's gained popularity for the role, including, most recently, for his appearance with Michelle Obama

Still, NBC has yet to confirm the rumor, and Leno's representation has remained similarly mum.
