Diehard fans were disappointed yet again today when a rumor circulating that "50 Shades of Grey" author E.L. James would reveal the cast of the upcoming film adaptation at Comic-Con were put to bed by James herself.

HollywoodLife initially reported the rumor, stating that James would be announcing the actors who have been cast in the film, including the lead characters, Chrisitan Grey and Anastasia Steele. However, the site's "exclusive source" seems to have gotten it wrong.

James took to Twitter on Monday to give the final ruling.

"I dunno where this rumour started that the cast would be revealed at Comic Con...but it is just that - a rumour. (Sighs)"

Other details about the film have been confirmed, though, including the director and the release date. The "50 Shades" film will hit theaters in August, 2014.
