Has "Dancing With The Stars" managed to overcome its initially ho-hum cast? It seems as though the reality dance contest may be greater than the sum of its parts. Last night's jazz-themed episode included plenty of drama -- including a painful cyst that tripped up skater Dorothy Hamill and another impressive performance from teen star Zendaya.
Disney star Zendaya, a skilled hip-hop dancer, managed to translate her fancy feet into the quick-paced jazz performance, again collecting the highest score. Right behind her was Kellie Pickler, who also impressed the judges last week.
Hamill, however, who was coordinated and fun in the first episode, became a focal point last night, as she struggled against an an ankle cyst that forced her into flats.
Seattleites were also excited to see a familiar face in the crowd: "Bachelor" Sean Lowe's fiancee Catherine, a former Amazon employee and Emerald City resident.
Lowe, who had trouble with the pace of his performance, continued to struggle -- and also admitted to professional partner Peta Murgatroyd at one point that "I never took a shower yesterday or today." Good thing he's already engaged!
Following a breakdown last week, Andy Dick seemed much more confident in a slightly-LSD-inspired "Alice in Wonderland" themed piece, scoring much better with the judges than in the previous week.
Comedian DL Hughely, however, showed little improvement following a disappointing performance last week, and is the favorite for elimination in the coming weeks.
