Brian the Movie Guy: 'Beyond The Pines' is the only thing worth seeing this weekend

Aside from the excellent THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES (a link to my review from last week can be found  below), there’s nothing hugely of note opening this week – so please accept my First Quarter Five rankers (if you’re in need of catching a  flick this weekend).

Opening in April:
The Jackie Robinson baseball flick, 42 (4/12).  Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman star in the sci-fi, OBLIVION (4/19).  Director Michael Bay switches gears (hopefully) and delivers PAIN AND GAIN with Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson (4/26) and Robert DeNiro, Katherine Heigl, Diane Keaton, Amanda Seyfried, Topher Grace, Susan Sarandon and Robin Williams pack a star-powered punch in THE BIG WEDDING (4/26).
