The ninth season of ABC's "The Bachelorette" premieres on May 27, but Desiree Hartsock has already experienced the emotional rollercoaster of filming the show and selecting her future husband. And while it wasn't easy, Hartsock, who was a fan favorite from the previous season of "The Bachelor," says she's happy she made the choice to be cast on the show.
"I’m glad that I did decide to do the show and I am, you know, I was satisfied through my, with my decision throughout. I followed and trusted my heart the best I could," she said in a recent interview, "I feel I’ve been true to myself throughout."
Hartsock, who wasn't permitted to say whether or not she'd found love on the show, but she did comment on whether or not she'd be having a public wedding like Sean Lowe, who ultimately selected fiancee Catherine Giudici over Hartsock.
"If I do end up with someone and when that time comes, I would really have to think about it because I would want my wedding to be small and intimate," she noted.
Despite being a castmember on "The Bachelor," Hartsock admitted that there were still some aspects that she wasn't expect.
"There’s a lot of surprises," she noted, but "overall I think it’s a journey of love. And love isn’t always going to be happy because there’s going to be ups and downs but, ultimately, you get through it all."
"The Bachelorette" premieres on Monday, May 27, on ABC.
