These are some of the pets we have featured in recent weeks:

Kenji KENJI (Dog)
This is a sweet animal who gets along well with other dogs, and likes to make new human friends too. I do well on a leash and can sit on command. By the way, I'm also taking some medication to clear up a skin condition but that should be better soon!

Jazell JAZELL (Cat)
If COOLNESS is what you want in a cat, Jazell wants to be your "forever" partner! Featured on 6/25, we're pretty sure Jazell won't be with the Shelter very long as this one is adorable!!

3-Legged Ronnie Captain Ron (Cat)
June is National Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat month. We figure it's a LOT easier to adopt a cat than to adopt a shelter, so we offer CAPTAIN RON. He is a special needs cat, who lost a leg to an amputation that had to be performed when an injury could not be appropriately repaired. Even with 75% of his appendages, he gets around with ample speed, affection and enthusiasm!

I am SPARTACUS! SPARTACUS (Dog)
Spartacus had to be surrendered so he could have a better life than his owner, who was going through a divorce and then a deployment (Spartacus clearly got the better end of THAT deal). He is friendly but high-energy and a little too timid to be around small kids.

PANDA PANDA (Dog)
Panda is a 5 year old cattledog mix who was placed for adoption when someone had to move. The dog is world-traveled, originally adopted from the streets of Mexico. Panda is good with most other dogs but definitely has herding tendencies...teens and herding dog experience necessary. Housebroken, good on leash, well-behaved, and may be fine with a dog-savvy cat.

Two Dogs who are Great Friends Butch and Midnight (Dogs)
This literally is a two-for-one adoption deal. Butch and Midnight are best friends and certainly want to be adopted together, as they depend heavily on each other. Both are Cockers and both are friendly. Think about it...two of you can each have a dog on your lap at the same time and won't have to "negotiate" for your pet's affection!

CHESTER CHESTER (Dog)
Chester is a 13 year old housebroken daschund, who was adopted eight years ago but given back because of an illness in the adoptive family. Chester is good with other dogs and might be ok with cats. He is probably not a good apartment dweller, because he barks with excitement so may not win the heart of a close or sleeping neighbor.

ADOPT RABBITS TOO!
Remember every February is Adopt a Rabbit Month. For homes that can't give as much attention as a dog or cat may need, a rabbit may be an excellent alternative. There are always plenty to choose from ... each appreciative of an excellent home and affection!
