These are some of the pets we have featured in recent weeks:
CANDY (Dog)
Candy Girl, or Candy, is named for her sweet disposition. Extra personality traits have made up for one missing leg -- which suggests a home with kids is probably not a good fit. Older, settled owner(s) are probably a perfect match for all the affection this dog is waiting to give. She's up-to-date with routine shots, and is spayed/neutered.
ELANTA (Cat)
What is on STAR 101.5 in the morning and loves to be the center of attention? Trick Question ... because it's our entire morning show. But in this case, it's also the cat we featured named ELANTA. She's very affectionate, has a warm personality, and is probably going to have the most success as an "only cat" (no other cats in the home).
EMMY (Dog)
This is you chance to win an EMMY in the coveted "Best Performance by a Labrador Retrever (Mixed)" category. Emmy is a gentle, older dog who should be in a home with no kids -- ideally with an older couple looking for companionship. What Emmy lacks in possible "Show Dog" qualities (she lost some hair which is growing back with proper care), she makes up in added affection. She is also up-to-date with routine shots and is spayed/neutered.
TEDDY (Dog)
This Teddy is also worried about your health care -- specifically making you happy. He is a playful and friendly Retriever who has a little extra love to give because his previous owners weren't all that attentive. He loves to be a companion, go for walks, and play -- maybe so much so that a fenced yard would be a good idea.
MAGGIE (Dog)
Maggie just had a bath, proving she can show more courtesy to our morning show than vice versa. She is a very sweet, shy and gentle eight year old. And, like our morning show, doesn't do much running -- prefers nice calm walks instead. Unlike our morning show, is is camera shy, though we managed to grab this quick "head shot" so you can meet her.
WALDORF (Dog)
Waldorf is a perfect companion for someone who has a low-key lifestyle. He's a senior, and was recently found as a stray and unclaimed by his owners. He will make a perfect companion for someone who wants a trained, mellow friend who won't be fighting you for control of the TV remote. Remember the adoption fee has been waived for all pets -- your ownly cost is for a pet license.
CHUCK (Dog)
Our Lab Test results indicate YOU could be an effective Lab OWNER! Chuck, a Chocolate lab, is up for adoption. He's a happy, playful dog -- maybe a bit TOO playful as obedience classes are still in Chuck's future. Maybe a home without small kids is a good fit for Chuck's size and enthusiasm (though he DOES know how to sit on command).
ADOPT RABBITS TOO!
Remember every February is Adopt a Rabbit Month. For homes that can't give as much attention as a dog or cat may need, a rabbit may be an excellent alternative. There are always plenty to choose from ... each appreciative of an excellent home and affection!
