We asked and you delivered. We collected thousands of toys and dollars to give to needy children this holiday season.  We collected toys at Walmart in Federal Way, Marysville, and at Fisher Plaza in downtown Seattle. Thousands of toys were delivered to help needy families this holiday season and help put a smile on a child's face.

Mary Butler with Toys for Tots of Snohomish County said that thanks to a huge donation from Boeing, they've been able to re-open the application process for families who need toys. Butler said Boeing donated 6,300 toys to Snohomish County alone.  Toys for Tots had previously been so low on donations, they had to take the online application down after a certain point.

Our KOMO Communities Marysville Producer, Heather Reese, blogged live from the Walmart in Marysville and shares this touching story:

Out of the many, many generous people who stopped by the Marysville Wal-Mart to donate toys to our Toys for Tots drive today - Paulette has etched a special place in my memory.  She buzzed around the store for more than three hours filling up carts and carts of toys for kids and teenagers.  "We gotta fill up some carts here...grab another, we need two to three at a time," she directed her crew of volunteers.

In the end - she rung up more than $1,800 worth of merchandise. The Wal-Mart employees recognized Paulette. They say she does this every year.  And she does it in memory of her son. "This is my son's Christmas," she said.  And thanks to her generosity - many, many kids will have a happy Christmas this year.

You can still give if you missed the toy drive today. Log onto to find out how you can donate online.
