Elizabeth Ford, author of Smart Girls Marry Money: How Women Have Been Duped Into the Romantic Dream--And How They're Paying For It, says asking about money in a relationship shouldn't be taboo.

"If you really want to enter into a marriage and make it work, and make it last, and you don't consider economics, you're not being that smart," Ford said Friday in an interview on STAR 101.5 FM.

"Love is great, but that passion, amazing romantic love that we use to begin a relationship, it doesn't last that long," she said.
