Teacher of the Week Winner (2006-2007)
In a segment partially aired live on KOMO-TV 4, morning host Kent Phillips stepped through about a dozen Teacher of the Week finalists. Each one had chosen a key (which had been scrambled by one of Ms. Maes' students). Another one of Ms. Maes' students chose her key for her ... which stared the car. We assume these two students will, at least, get a ride in the car at some point!

It's not a bad day when somewhere between teaching your first grade kids about manners and teaching them about counting that you end up with a brand new car from Doug's Lynndwood Mazda. It happened to Laura Maes of Crescent Heights Elementary School in Tacoma.
